Safety and Security
Every attempt is made to provide a safe and secure living environment. All members of the residential community must share responsibility for security. Alverno College security officers make regular rounds through the residence halls. The residents’ College ID is activated to give access to the buildings. The Austin Hall reception desk is staffed 24 hours, seven days a week, and the receptionist monitors those entering the building and facilitates the check-in process. Security cameras monitor each of the doors that lead outside. The Clare Hall desk is staffed Monday-Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight and Saturday and Sunday from noon to midnight.
Guest Procedures
All guests must check in with a valid ID at the customer service desk in accordance with our policies. Minors 16 and under may check in without an ID for 2 hours without prior approval. For longer visits, please contact a professional Residence Life staff member.
