Nancy Athanasiou, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs in the School of Education and Associate Professor, has been teaching in the School of Education at Alverno College since 2001. Dr. Athanasiou began working on curriculum for the Research Center for Women and Girls in 2011.
Dr. Athanasiou taught middle school for six years in the Milwaukee Public School District and then moved to the Germantown School District where she worked for five years as an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher and Instructional Specialist. She has consulted with school districts and university faculty, locally and internationally in the areas of assessment, gender specific teaching, brain based learning, multiple intelligences, writing across the curriculum and technology integration. She has also presented at conferences on feedback and assessing for teacher dispositions.
Dr. Athanasiou is an alumna from Alverno College where she received her B.S. in Elementary Education. Her M.S.in Educational Computing and Ed.D. in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service are from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
