Executive Director's Message

Rhonda Matthews WareResearch creates the building blocks of knowledge upon which we base our understanding of the world. Without research, there would be no advances in medicine or science. We would not be able to craft legal arguments to empower the disenfranchised or be able to identify the best teaching techniques to prepare our children to be future leaders. Without research, we would not be able to figure out how anything works or how anything is made.

The Alverno College Research Center for Women and Girls appreciates the need to conduct scholarly research related to the concerns of today’s women and girls, research that is accessible to decision makers in our community so that they have the tools to address these concerns. The Research Center team produces research publications and school curricula that affect girls and women wherever they are found—in the home, in school, in the workplace, and in society at large. Our intention is for our research to be used by educators, community organizations, businesses and government officials to raise awareness, identify solutions, change attitudes and practices, and develop public policy both locally and nationally.

Welcome to the Alverno College Research Center for Women and Girls, a place where we understand that research informs action and that by activating research, we can change lives!
