Certificate
Programs for Men and Women
A postbaccalaureate certificate can help an individual
transition into a new career area, gain confidence and background
in a skill that requires strengthening, or pursue a new area of interest.
A certificate typically represents the successful completion of from
three to five courses.
Students can complete the computer studies, management, and professional
communication certificates entirely in the Weekend College timeframe.
Some courses in the ethics and religious studies certificate programs
may be offered weekday, but students can work with Alverno for substitutions
if they are unable to take daytime classes. Tuition
for certificate programs is 50% of regular Weekend College tuition
on a space-available basis. Certificate programs do not qualify
for financial aid.

Programs
Women or men who want more depth in a subject area than is offered
by a certificate program, or who want to pursue an area of study
for which a certificate is not available, may complete a major (or
minor) equivalent. In this situation, the student does not complete
additional general education courses but focuses only on courses
within the major or minor. Any Weekend College major or minor is
available as a major equivalent in the weekend timeframe.
Tuition for weekend major and minor equivalents
is 50% of regular Weekend College tuition on a space-available basis.
