Additional benefits of Weekend College:

  • Weekend College is a full bachelor's degree program

  • Students can attend Weekend College full time and complete their undergraduate degree in four years

  • A semester of Weekend College is equal to a semester of regular college.

  • Weekend College meets every other weekend (two weekends a month).

  • Courses are offered Friday evening, all day Saturday and all day Sunday.

  • Some weekend and evening courses are available in the summer.

  • Students can choose to attend part time (6-11 credits) and take as long as they would like to complete their undergraduate degree.

  • Students who have attended other accredited institutions are welcome to submit transcripts for a transfer evaluation.

  • Students are not required to have previous college credit; the full four-year sequence of courses are offered at Alverno.

  • Students who wish to take a Weekday College major, but need to continue to work during the week, can begin in Weekend College for later transfer to the Weekday timeframe.

  • A student who finds it necessary to "stop out" of school for one to four semesters can become a student on leave. She does so by filling out a form that is available in the Advising Office.

Nationally Acclaimed Curriculum

  • National magazines have rated Alverno as an effective education and an educational "buy."

  • Full semesters enable students to grasp course content and develop complex levels of learning.

  • Projects, research papers and presentations help students gain experience in communication, analysis, problem solving and other areas pertinent to career advancement.

  • Assessment is a powerful learning too that, through feedback, helps students know how to apply knowledge to real-life situations. Instead of a grade, students receive a thorough analysis of their strengths and areas needing improvement.
