Alverno College Will Hold its 147th Commencement on May 17 and 18Date Released: May 13 2013
Alverno College will hold its 147th commencement this weekend as 172 students walk across the Pitman Theatre stage to receive their undergraduate degrees. The ceremony will be on May 18 at 2 p.m. Forty master’s candidates will receive their degrees from Alverno on Friday, May 17, at 7:00 p.m.
Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin with an 11 a.m. liturgy in the Alverno College chapel, followed by a brunch for degree candidates and their families. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Allicia Washington-White, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in English; the undergraduate invocation will be given by Carissa Herhuth, who will receive a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy; and the student address, “Who Do You Think You’re Not?” will be given by Sasheene Denny, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Diana Moro Goane, who will receive a Master of Business Administration degree. A champagne reception will follow the graduate commencementceremony. Washington-White, Denny and Herhuth are Milwaukee residents, and Goane is from Muskego.
