The Power of Financial Aid

Power of Financial Aid Campaign and Trip to Madison 2/27/13

Have you been to the State Capitol?  Have you ever spoken to your legislator?  You can be a powerful spokesperson for state financial aid programs like Wisconsin Tuition Grant by speaking about your educational experience.  Tell them you can’t do it without financial aid. You can also sign an online petition, tell your story, and discover what other actions you can take to help ensure the educational dreams of all students continue to be fulfilled through the Power of Financial Aid.

To make a difference:
1.       Sign Power of Financial Aid Petition.  Visit http://poweroffinancialaid.org/ and sign the Power of Financial Aid Petition to let state representatives know you want financial aid dollars protected. Encourage those in your circle of influence (family, friends, etc.) to sign the petition.  This is also the place to tell your story and find out what else you can do to support this effort.
2.       Register for WAICU Students’ Day.  Visit http://tinyurl.com/WAICUStudentsDayand register to travel to Madison on Wednesday, February 27, for WAICU Students’ Day.  Alverno will provide free bus transportation and all current and former students are encouraged to attend.  Free food and training will be provided at Monona Terrace prior to your appointments made for you with your representatives.  Or you can drive to Madison and meet up with us there.  Once you register, Dan Goyette in the Financial Aid Office will provide more details beginning mid to late January.

Contact Dan Goyette <dan.goyette@alverno.edu> in the Financial Aid Office with any questions.
