The Diagnostic Digital Portfolio (DDP) was built on our assessment-as-learning process, making it more transparent to the student, as well as others who sought to understand this important educational program. It also provided actual, accessible performance data, giving students the tools to create an electronic resume for potential employers or for graduate schools.
In fall 2015 the DDP was retired and replaced with LiveText’s ePortfolio solution. Existing DDP data is now available to students and faculty in a read-only format. Students can download their DDP portfolio to upload to their LiveText portfolio.
The DDP was a first-of-its-kind, web-based system that let students follow their learning progress throughout their student career at Alverno. It helped them process the feedback received from faculty, external assessors and peers. It also enabled them to look for patterns in their academic work to take more control of their own development and to become a more autonomous learner.
