Alverno College proudly announces the Research Center for Women and Girls

The Research Center for Women and Girls at Alverno College is poised to become the premier women's research center in the nation, with the power to impact countless lives. As one of the first women's research centers to include research specific to both women and girls, the Research Center has already begun to create positive social change.

Its groundbreaking study, the 2007 Status of Girls in Wisconsin Report, took a landmark look at the lives of 360,000 10- to 19-year-old girls. The report included findings in the areas of reproductive health, substance abuse and social support that will shape future research and workshops exploring a wide range of girls' and women's issues.

Built on a half-century history of researching women, the Research Center for Women and Girls provides the tools to reach out to young girls through action-oriented research, empowering women and girls at an earlier age.
