Assistant Professor, Education
Full time
Alverno College seeks a full time Assistant Professor to begin in January 2007. Primary duties and responsibilities
include teaching undergraduate elementary education courses, advise elementary education majors and collaborate in on-going development of curriculum. The position is on track for continuous appointment and opportunity for promotion in rank.

Qualifications
Five years of teaching experience in an elementary and/or middle school environment is required.  Experience in reading, math or science education is a plus.  Experience with course management software and computer-based instructional tools are a plus.  The successful candidate should have a commitment to teaching excellence and a willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment.

Education
Ph.D. in Education or related field.  Candidates close to completion of their Ph.D. will be considered.

Bindery Operator
Primary Responsibilities
Provide all bindery operations to faculty and staff including, but not limited to, collating, stapling, drilling, cutting, folding and padding.  Review, organize and prioritize jobs to ensure that the work is completed neatly, efficiently, on time, and according to specifications.  Provide excellent customer service including informing customers of the department’s policies and procedures and notifying clients that their jobs are ready for pick up or delivery.  Accurately and neatly complete documentation, calculate prices of jobs, and file completed jobs

Qualifications

  • Six months of previous bindery experience is a plus.  Previous use of the following equipment preferred: Copybinder 24 collator, Copystitcher, Copystack, Copyfolder, Faltex 711 Folder with right angle, Challenge EH-3A Power Drill, Challenge 305-MC Paper Cutter, and Minolta Copy Machine.
  • Must be quality-conscious.
  • Must have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent customer skills including the ability to respond to customers professionally and in a timely manner. 
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and maintain/meet safety standards.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide) and the ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders and equipment manuals.  Must be able to write and complete documents such as work orders and recordkeeping logs.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Must be able to frequently walk, stand, stoop and bend.

Requires high school diploma or equivalent

Director of Financial Aid, Financial Aid Office
Full time
Responsibilities
Design, implement and manage all financial aid programs and procedures in keeping with institutional goals and enrollment objectives as well as federal, state and institutional regulations.  Develop and maintain proactive, positive and informative relationships with local, state and federal agencies related to current and potential financial aid and student related legislation, policies, and procedures.  Monitor compliance with institutional, state and federal policies including, but not limited to, academic progress and audits.  Develop and maintain positive and proactive working relationships with multiple academic, administrative support, and academic support departments in relation to the responsibilities of the Financial Aid Office.  Meet with students and parents to resolve issues, propose options, and communicate financial aid policies and procedures.  Present information to senior level administrators, Administrative Council and other management meetings.  Supervise and develop staff to maximize performance and in accordance with the College's policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of progressive responsibilities in financial aid with a proven track record including familiarity with policies related to awarding of institutional funds and federal and state regulations pertaining to financial aid.  Previous managerial experience with professional staff.  Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills including the ability to speak effectively before groups, respond professionally and in a timely manner to questions or requests, and write reports and correspondence.  Ability to read and interpret documents.  Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with frequent interruptions.  Must have the ability to professionally respond to variations in schedules and plans and develop innovative approaches and ideas to meet challenges.  Requires the ability to work with and maintain confidential information.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and database systems.  Willingness and ability to occasionally travel and work some evenings and weekends.

Education
Master’s degree is required.

Human Resources Assistant, Payroll, Human Resources
25 hours per week

Rsponsibilities

  • Back –Up Payroll Coordinator with processing of payroll, timesheets, payroll transactions and reporting (under guidance from the Payroll Coordinator)
  • Student Payroll Processing/Coordination (under guidance from the HR Generalist)
  • Clerical Support to Payroll/Human Resources

Qualifications

  • Three to five years office support experience (Human resources/automated payroll processing preferred)
  • Demonstrated strength in computer skills including quick and accurate data entry skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and
    e-mail  (10-key experience a plus)
  • Demonstrated strength using basic math skills
  • Established logic and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated success in providing quality service
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality

Instructors, Business
