Welcome, Parents!

We are honored by your trust to educate and develop the young woman in your family. As part of our family, just like you, we are dedicated to her success in and out of the classroom.

Our Parent & Family Program, coordinated through the department of New Student & Family Programs, was created in 2015 to help you stay connected to campus life and to serve as a resource throughout your student's college experience.

We have resources to help you with everything connected with your student's life here at Alverno from navigating financial aid to career and professional development.

A Changing Role

"Be available and supportive, and advise your student to utilze the resources available to them. Allow them to problem-solve and make their own decisions. It's hard, but it's time to switch from being your student's manager to their consultant."

Parent & Family Orientation
Parents and adult family members of students new to Alverno are invited to attend Parent & Family Orientation.

New Student Convocation & Welcome Picnic - Tuesday, August 28, 2017 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. in the Pitman Theatre
Convocation traditionally signals the start of the academic year, providing the opportunity for students and their families, faculty, and staff to celebrate the beginning of the semester together. RSVP HERE before August 21.

Convocation introduces new students to the College, welcomes them into the Alverno community and introduces them to campus culture. Just like commencement, students and administrators process into the Pitman Theatre. There are speakers, and students are presented with symbolic gifts signifying that they are academic citizens of the Alverno community.

New students and their families are also invited to the Convocation Ceremony and the Welcome Picnic that follows the ceremony. Both events are FREE!  Register here to join us.

Casino Night - Friday, October 6, 2017 - 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. in LaVerna Commons
Join us for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, blackjack, bingo, roulette, craps, a silent auction and more!
Gamble with fake money for chances to win real prizes! This event is FREE for all Alverno students, their families and their friends! Register here.
