For Victims of Sexual Assault
- Get to a safe place as soon as you can.
- Preserve Evidence – do not wash, or change clothing. If you do change clothing place all clothing you were wearing into a paper bag.
- Do not eat, drink liquids, smoke or brush teeth if oral contact took place.
- Get medical attention as soon as possible.
- Report it.
- Receive information on resources.
- Receive information on reporting to local police.
- You have the right to decline a formal report to the Police or to Campus authorities.
For Victims of Other Crimes
- Get to a safe place as soon as you can.
- Preserve Evidence – leave items as they are and do touch areas that may contain evidence such as finger prints.
- Report the crime to the Department of Campus Safety
- Get medical attention as soon as possible if necessary due to assault.
- Receive information on resources.
- Receive information on reporting to local police.
- Receive information on reporting theft to card companies if credit or debit cards were taken.
