The Media Hub
Students and faculty and staff may borrow
equipment from The Media Hub.
The borrower is financially responsible for any loss of or damage to the
equipment while it is in their possession. A $1 per hour late fee,
including hours The Media Hub is closed, will be charged if the
equipment is not returned on the due date. You will not be able
to check out equipment until this fine is paid.
Students
To check out a piece of equipment, come to The Media Hub with a
valid Alverno ID with an Alverno Library barcode on the back.
Equipment available to students:
Audio Cassette Players/Recorders, 35mm Cameras, VHS Camcorders with
battery and tripod, Digital Cameras, Firewire Hard Drives, Laptops and and MAC/PC Zip Drives, Digital Voice Recorders and Digital Camcorders.
Equipment is checked out on a first come basis for up to a 72 hour
loan period. If you have incurred a fine or hold you will not be
able to check out equipment until the fine is paid or the hold is
removed.
Items may not be immediately renewed.
Equipment availability information and renewals are not given over
the phone. You must come to The Media Hub in person with the piece
of equipment and your student ID with Library barcode.

 Faculty
and Staff
Faculty and staff can reserve and request equipment from The Media
Hub for classroom, department, and personal use.
Equipment available to faculty and staff are:
35mm Cameras, Digital Cameras, CD Boom
Boxes, Digital Camcorders, Document Cameras, DVD Players, Easels,
NOMAD Carts, Overhead Projectors, Screens, Slide Projectors with
remote and tray, Electronic White Boards, Firewire Hard Drive (also
available in a classroom set), VCPs – to view a tape, VCRs
– to record onto a tape, and Digital Audio Recorders.
In order to check out or reserve a piece of equipment
you will need an Alverno Library card.
 Faculty
and staff can come to The Media Hub in person to fill out a request
form, or they may pick up a request form in the mailroom. Completed
forms should be returned to The Media Hub or placed in Kathy Sielaff’s
mail drawer. Please give at least 24 hours notice when placing an
order. Orders placed with less then 24 hours notice may be unable
to be filled.
At this time The Media Hub does not accept phone
or e-mail orders.
