Academic Advising

The Academic Advising Office, located in LA 221, is staffed by five full-time Advisors and three support staff members. Academic Advisors work with new Weekday College students for the first one to three semesters and advise all students in the Weekend College program. Academic Advisors work with all students so that they understand the curriculum and reinforce practice of the eight abilities. Advisors are available to see students by individual appointment, through group-advising sessions and by phone or e-mail contact. In addition to individual student advising, the staff also:

  • registers new undergraduate, certificate and major equivalency students
  • advises continuing students in both the Weekday and Weekend College programs
  • coordinates the Peer Advising and Student-On-Leave Program
  • produces and reviews graduation audits
  • registers students who are returning from an Official Withdrawal
  • refers students to other college resources

Office Hours/Contact Information

For New Students
Academic Advising works in conjunction with the Office of Admissions to register incoming students. Once a new student is accepted to the college and has returned her gold registration forms to the Admissions Office, Academic Advising will begin the process of registering the new student. Once this is completed, a Registration Packet is mailed to the new student.

New students have an opportunity to meet their Advisor at Orientation-Passport to Success, Beginning Class Schedule, or by scheduling an appointment at anytime prior to the beginning of the semester. New students are encouraged to contact their advisor prior to the start of the semester with any questions they may have.
