Instructor
Change
The College reserves the right to change instructors when necessary.
These changes can be viewed through Interactive Online (IOL).
Permits
Once approved with all required signatures,
the Registrar’s Office will add the approved request.
Prerequisite
Checking
A computer program will check course
prerequisites for classes. The prerequisite program will
check courses completed, courses in progress, transfer credits,
courses waived due to completion of Credit by Assessment and exceptions
granted by General Permit. Courses for which you are not
eligible will be dropped. Please direct questions regarding
prerequisite checking to the Registrar, 414-382-6072, or e-mail
Registrar.
Progress
Reports
A Progress Report is available through
Alverno’s Interactive Online (IOL) after the close of the
semester. The Progress Report consists of the names of the
courses and abilities that you attempted during the semester and
your progress code in each. An instructor reports your progress
for the course and validation according to one of the following
five codes:
- Satisfactory (S) indicates all requirements
of the course, development of abilities and mastery of subject
matter have been met.
- Incomplete (I) indicates minimal amount of
work remains to be completed.
- Unsatisfactory (U) indicates insufficient
evidence for meeting the standards of the course.
- Withdrawal (W) for a validation only indicates
that the student did not attempt the validation.
- Auditor (AU) indicates you have selected to
audit the course.
- Unofficial Withdrawal (UW) indicates an unofficial
withdrawal from the course.
- Drop/Withdrawal (DW) indicates an official
drop/withdrawal from the course.
Please note that certain restrictions placed on
student’s
records will not allow them to access the progress report.
ROTC Program
Students currently enrolled in the Air Force ROTC Program must register
for courses at Marquette University. Alverno students who are interested
in the ROTC Program should contact the Division of Natural Sciences,
Mathematics, and Technology at 414-382-6203.
Schedule
Changes
You may not add a course to your schedule after a class has begun without the instructor's written permission. You may not withdraw from a course after the start of the semester through IOL. All schedule changes after the start of the semester must be made in writing in the Registrar's Office or by e-mailing the Registrar's Office. All students advised out of the Advising Office should contact that office.
Section Changes
If
a new section is added at the same time as the previous section
or a section needs to be balanced, the staff in the Registrar's
Office will automatically move students to the other section beginning
with students who registered last. These changes can be viewed through
Interactive Online (IOL).
