College Transition Program

The College Transition Program (CTP) is designed to assist applicants to meet admission requirements. Instructors help students approach college work with confidence through noncredit courses in reading and writing, history of science, math, and algebra. The program also assists students in their careers because of its focus on enhancing communication abilities, critical thinking, and working in groups. Courses are offered each semester and in the summer and are scheduled during the weekday, on weekends, and in the evening. Class size is limited to allow for individual instruction and provide students with opportunities to practice active learning strategies in a supportive environment. CTP participants also work with an advisor and have access to peer tutoring and the Communication and Math Resource Centers for additional support.

Course offerings:

CM 050 Communication Seminar: Integrating Language Practices

MT 050 Applying Mathematical Thinking

ALG 051 Algebra, Part 1

SC 050 Time Travel: Surfing Through Science
