Mission
Statement
Instructional Services exists to
provide Alverno students and faculty with support that promotes the
academic and personal development of students. To accomplish our mission,
we consistently work to:
- engage students in active learning, reflection
and collaboration;
- provide a foundation for learning by teaching
self-regulation processes;
- teach strategies and processes that promote independence
in learning and enable the transfer of learning to multiple contexts;
- give students meaningful opportunities to demonstrate
their knowledge and understanding by providing service learning
through structured peer tutoring programs; and
- collaborate with faculty, staff and administrators
by sharing our expertise in the fields of developmental education,
disability support and second language learning.
In accomplishing our mission, we support the mission
of the college.
