The Math Resource
Center
The Math Resource Center (MRC)
provides one-on-one, drop-in assistance to students seeking guidance
and help on their math-related work and assignments. Specially trained
students staff the MRC; they have been recommended as assistants
by faculty because of their success with math course work and their
ability to work with others.
The primary purpose of the Math Resource Center
is to help students with their understanding of math by conferencing
with them and responding to their individual questions and concerns.
Working collaboratively with the student, the MRC assistant provides
input regarding assignments from math courses and math related areas
such as nursing, education, science, and business and management.
The assistant reviews and reinforces math processes with the student
as she works through problems and assignments, thereby strengthening
her understanding of underlying math concepts. In addition, students
have access to software applications that allow for practice to
support their math work.
Hours of operation
The Math Resource Center is located in room LA 416
