
In the last five seasons, Heather Burtman has compiled 47 wins while at the helm for the Inferno with the team’s best finish coming in 2004. Alverno recorded 16 victories and a third place finish at the Lake Michigan Conference Tournament. In 2007, the Inferno won five conference games for a share of eighth place.
Before coming to Alverno, Burtman spent two years at St. John Lutheran School in Ocala, Florida where she taught physical education, coached varsity softball and served as an assistant basketball coach. She received her undergraduate degree in physical education from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2000. While at Concordia, Burtman was a four-year letter winner in softball, earning all-conference honors in 1996 and 1998.
In addition to coaching softball, Burtman is also the Sports Information Director. She teaches wellness education classes that include Introduction to Fitness and Badminton.
