Alverno Splits with Lakeland College

(4/15/08) -- In the first game of the afternoon, both teams saw limited offense. Alverno's Jessica Goetz (So., Milwaukee, WI / Martin Luther) and Lakeland's Sara Roberts combined for 22 strikeouts.  The Muskies were able to manufacture a run on an overthrown ball in the 3rd inning..  That was all that Lakeland needed for the 1-0 victory.

In the second game, Alverno's offense finally came alive as they tallied 9 runs on 12 hits. Megan Burgess (Fr., Racine, WI/Park) led the Inferno attack with 3 hits and 2 runs scored.  Jessica Goetz went the distance in game two giving up 5 hits and striking out 8.

Alverno will be return to action on Thursday, April 17th, when they host Mount Mary College.  Game one begins at 4pm.
