Inferno Drop Conference Opener (3/30/08) --Lack of offense and a handful of errors led to a loss in the conference opener versus Benedictine University. Alverno put runners aboard the bases, but were unable to capitalize as they left six stranded. Rebecca Schmid (Jr., Tigerton/Tigerton) recorded two hits, scored and drove in a run in the 6-2 loss. Jessica Goetz (So., Milwaukee,WI/Greendale Martin Luther) takes the defeat. She scattered nine hits and struck out three. In game two of the doubleheader, the Inferno got their offense working as they recorded nine hits. However, they failed to drive in the runners and left ten on base, in an 11-1 loss. Brianne Porter (Fr., Oak Creek, WI/Oak Creek) led Alverno offensively with two hits. She also took the loss allowing eleven runs on ten hits. |
