Alverno To Begin Season in Florida
The Alverno College women’s softball team has released its schedule for their upcoming, season-opening trip to Fort Myers, FL. This will be the squad's third straight season-starting trek to the Sunshine State. They will once again be playing in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. This year's event will span 10 games to be played between March 20 - March 25. 6th year head coach Heather Burtman likes the opportunities the journey to Florida provides her squad. "The spring trip is very important to our team. We’ve had so many practices indoors. Being in Florida gives us a chance to put everything together out on the playing field. We’ll be able to see where we’re strong and what we need to work on before we open up our conference season." Practices for the 2008 Inferno softball season begins on Friday, February 1st.
