13 rebounds. Both totals marked career highs for the 5-8 junior. The win gave Alverno its first ever victory in a NAC game.
"There were times in the game where the rim was huge," Miller said of her 10-17 shooting performance from the floor, "but I didn't know it was THAT huge." Miller added that while the recognition is nice, the win is the important thing.
"Getting our first conference game in the NAC... it's everything right now. We needed the win so badly. Even if I had like, 4 points but we would have won, I'd still be happy."
The honor is the first time the award has been bestowed upon an Alverno cager. Miller's coach, Brad Duckworth, was a little more willing to shine the spotlight on his starting forward:
"This is a great honor for Bre, one that she has earned. I am certainly not surprised by her play, this is something she is and has been capable of and I am proud of her commitment to helping build this program. As a program we are growing and getting better every night and this is a sign that others are taking notice."
