Alverno Falls To Cougars

Bre Miller Joslyn Binkowski
(1/16/2008) -- The last time the Alverno women's basketball team faced Concordia (Chi.) University, the Cougars attempted 42 3-pointers and hit 14 on their way to a 69-55 win. On Wednesday night, the Inferno again fell victim to the long ball. Concordia hit 10 of their 28 3-point attempts en route to a 74-59 victory.
The turning point in the game came in the final five minutes of the first half. With 4:51 remaining on the clock, Cougars coach Tamlyn Tills called timeout with her team up, 29-21. Concordia came out of that timeout and finished the half on a 18-8 run. While Alverno outscored the Cougars 30-27 in the second half, they were never able to get closer than 15 points the remainder of the game.
Bre Miller (Jr., Racine, WI / Horlick High School) led Alverno in scoring, dropping 13 points on 5-7 shooting from the floor. Joslyn Binkowski (Jr., Greenfield, WI / Greenfield High School) chipped in 7 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.
