Road Weary Inferno Fall to Regents
Joslyn Binkowski (33) Lisa Sorgi (22) (12-01-07) Playing their third conference road game in five days, the Alverno College women's basketball team could not keep pace with Rockford College on Saturday, falling to the Regents, 77-44. Rockford (4-2, 2-0 NAC) came out firing against Alverno, hitting nearly 50% of their shots from the floor in the first half. By halftime, the Regents had built a 44-18 advantage. For the Inferno (2-4, 0-3 NAC), it was another case of "one step forward, two steps back". After an impressive team effort in a seven-point loss at Benedictine University on Thursday, Alverno struggled to find a rhythm offensively and defensively on Saturday. Lisa Sorgi (So., Milwaukee, WI) and Joslyn Binkowski (Jr., Greenfield, WI) led Alverno in scoring with 12 and 11 points respectively.
