Jennifer Braun '05, is a promotions assistant at

Brianna Clark '04, accepted a position at SC Johnson
in Racine, Wis., as an assistant toxicologist. She will begin in
July 2005.
6/6/05:
Michelle Bartelson '04 and husband David announce
the birth of their baby, Erin Michelle, born June 3, 2005.
5/20/05: Martha Lopez December
'04, accepted a position right after
graduation at Guadalupe Loyola Head Start as a Family Support Specialist.
She says she has used everything she gained from Alverno including
self-assessing her every move.
5/18/05: Mirella Molina '04, was promoted
from Jr. Financial Analyst to Financial Analyst at Reiman Publications.
5/18/05: Paulette
Chambers '04, has been named in Who's Who 2005 Among America's
Teachers. This is the second time she's received this honor.
9/21/05: Linda Smith '03, began
graduate school at the University of North Carolina - Greensboro
in Genetic Counseling. She especially wishes to thank the Biology
Department for preparing her for graduate study.
8/26/05: Kimberly Jones '03 has
a new job as staff accountant at the Milwaukee Athletic Club.
8/11/05: Michelle Gaertner '03,
moved to Mobile, Alabama, in August of 2004 and started working
for a company called "The Learning Tree" in February of
2005. She started her position as a Teacher's Assistant in the middle
of February and recently received a promotion as a Behavior Program
Monitor.
8/8/05: Yvonne Lewandowski-Moss '03
is proud to announce the birth of her daughter Eva-Marie Elizabeth.
Eva-Marie was born on March 19th.
5/25/05:
Erin Brigham '03, just completed her MA in theology
at the Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley. The title of her
thesis is: "The Thread that Unites: Elizabeth Johnson's contribution
to a Feminist Understanding of Community." She will begin her
Ph.D. at the Graduate Theological Union in fall 2005.
5/20/05:
Sue DaBaco '03, was highlighted in Guitar One Magazine’s
December 2004 issue. In addition, her band, Wise Fools, has been
hired for several major festivals this summer, including Summerfest,
Waukesha County Fair, Milwaukee A La Carte and Pridefest.
8/30/05: Sister Katy LaFond '02,
MA student, was received as a novice into the School
Sisters of St. Francis on Sunday, May 15th. Sister Katy will spend
her canonical year of novitiate at the Common Franciscan Novitiate
in Joliet, Illinois from August to May.
5/31/05: Michelle (Lopez)
Schmidt a.k.a Michelle Marcelle '02 is
pregnant. Her baby girl is due August 22, 2005.
5/24/05: Shari Rabon '02, married
Dr. Michael Tremba on Saturday, May 21, in Alverno's chapel.
5/20/05: Birth: Jackie Tucker '02,
and husband Brian, have a new baby boy, Evan James, born April 21,
2005. 5/23/05: Jennifer Dietrich 02,
was accepted to Loyola University Chicago, M. S.W. Advance Standing
Program.
5/31/05:
Kris (Klinkosh) Zimmer '01, and her husband Don,
are proud parents of a new baby girl, KayLee Elisabeth, born February
25, 2005.
5/24/05:
Linda M. (Wolf) Bay 01, RN, was recently awarded
the VA Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Nursing for the
year 2005. This award is given annually to a registered nurse who
exemplifies excellence in nursing practice when providing direct
patient care, promotes the nursing profession within the VA, and
consistently demonstrates a strong role model for nursing. Linda
currently has works as a staff nurse as well as an educator at the
Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.
5/20/05:
LuAnn Bird '01, has accepted a position as Fund
Developer with ADVOCAP, a non-profit agency that helps people become
self sufficient again - those in poverty, the elderly, abused, disabled,
etc. ADVOCAP serves clients in Fond du Lac, Winnebago and Green
Lake Counties.
5/31/05: Anna Hammernik
'00 is Vice President for Public Relations for The Carefree
Foundation.
10/5/05: Jeannie (Balser)
Krupp, '99, husband Steve, and son Lucas announce the birth
of Ian Mitchell Krupp on May 17, 2005.
5/23/05:
Crystal Y. Jones 99' of Decatur,
GA, received a promotion to Contracts Representative at Autotrader.com.
Jones willl be assisting the Autotrader.com Internet Consultants
and Sales Representatives with reviewing all new and existing dealership
contract documents for processing requirements so they can be advertised
on the website, provide training on Autotrader.com products &
services as needed to departments thoughout the company, and accurately
keep track of advertising trends so the Sales Reprentatives can
provide the best advertising product offered by Autotrader.com to
fit a dealerships needs. Jones also was selected as March employee
of the month for the dealer services division.
6/29/05: Abby (Nelson) Janssen '98,
is employed as a communication projects manager for the Wisconsin
Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) in Milwaukee.
6/1/05:
Nora Heidingsfeld '98 and husband
Wayne's soon-to-be-adopted daughter, Terriana Grace, was placed
in their home on June 3, 2005. Her adoption should become final
in December. Big brother Sammy is now 26 months old and Terriana
is 16 months old.
9/2/05: Deborah Benavides '97 has
joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as manager of corporate
relocation services for the Greater Milwaukee area. Her primary
responsibility is to assist corporations throughout the region with
their local and global recruiting and relocation needs.
8/22/05: Marriage: Carrie (Skinner) Payne
'97, married Troy Payne on August 13th.
6/10/05: Margaret Solberg '96,
was one of two teachers to receive the 2005 Alice Bertschy Kadish
Teacher of the Year Award. Margaret teachers four-year-old kindergarten
at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Wauwatosa.
8/8/05: Rebecca Valentine '95 has
signed a book contract with Gale Group/Thomson Learning to write
a 3-volume reference set on the Gilded Age/Progressive Era in American
history. Written for the Jr. High/High school level, the set will
be published in December 2006.
5/20/05:
Debra Loomis '94, recently received a Partners
In Education Good Idea Award for developing a Kids Care Club for
second graders at Country Meadows Elementary School in Muskego.
The club participates in and organizers fundraisers and community
charity events throughout the school year.
8/26/05: Ramona Phillips - License
HS History, BSS Brdfld Soc. Stud '92 & Masters
MAD Admin Leadership '02 called to update her information.
She is the new Assistant Principal at St. Joan Antida High School.
She is the first assistant principal in this newly created position.
6/3/05: Patricia Pedrus ' 92, recently
completed her Master's degree in Teaching at the School for International
Training.
5/24/05: Carol A. (Thornton) Knox ’91,
Milwaukee, received her master’s degree in religion from Trinity
Evangelical Divinity School in May 2004.
5/24/05: Shana (Van Zeeland) Farrell ’91,
Kaukauna, Wis., received her master’s degree in management
and organizational behavior from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc,
Wis., in November 2003. Farrell is an employer services consultant
at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, Wis.
5/24/05:
Karla J. Kimerer ’91, Iowa City, Iowa, began
a position with the University of Iowa Foundation as director of
development for the University Hospital and Clinics and the Carver
College of Medicine.
5/24/05: Rene (Sisouphone) Blazel '90,
is employed as a third grade teacher by Milwaukee Public Schools
at Allen Field Elementary.
7/26/05: Cynthia Poselenzny '89,
Vice President of Packer Industries, Inc., is excited
to be a part of a delegation of Georgia economic development and
business executives led by Governor Sonny Perdue that is going to
Canada for meetings with government officials and business leaders
July 26-28, 2005. The trip will explore new opportunities for increasing
trade, investment and tourism and will provide an update on Georgia’s
candidacy to become the headquarters of the Free Trade Area of the
Americas (FTAA).
5/24/05: Ruby J. (Hodge)
Brooks ’88, Milwaukee, received
the Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award in the Nonprofit
Leadership category on June 18, 2004. Brooks is the president and
founder of the Business Educational Consortium, Inc., or BECI. BECI
is a nonprofit organization that assists women business owners in
establishing relationships with potential customers via a supplier
diversity certification program.
9/6/05: Kathleen A. Kleman '86
bought T.C. Collectibles, a racing collectibles store located in
South Milwaukee, WI and renamed the business Green Flag Racing LLC.
1/19/05:
Kate Ksobiech '86, has joined the Public Policy Forum as
its senior research analyst. Ksobiech earned her undergraduate degree
in professional communication, her master's degree in broadcast
communications from the College of Speech at Marquette University,
and her doctorate in philosophy from the Urban Studies Program at
the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she focused on the design
and evaluation of health-related communications. The research results
for her dissertation on the impact of needle exchange programs were
published in a number of academic journals.
Prior to joining the forum, Ksobiech was a postdoctoral
fellow at the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Center for AIDS
Intervention Research where she conducted independent and collaborative
research on HIV/AIDS policy and risk reduction intervention. She
also has been a lecturer or instructor in communications at the
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Carroll College, University
of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Cardinal Stritch University, and Marquette
University.
5/25/05:
Joy Kilimann ’86, Milwaukee, has taken a
new position with the Milwaukee Public Library as branch manager
of the Villard Avenue Library. Kilimann left East Library to manage
the operation of the Villard Avenue Library. She has worked at East
Library, the Central Library, mobile services and Capitol Library.

8/8/05: Terry
Hansen-Beno '79, '82, married Rev. Brian Beno at the Cathedral
of St. Paul in Fond du Lac, Wis., in February. In June, she was
presented with the "Outstanding Employee of the Year"
award by the school district of Elmbrook, where she has been employed
for 13 years.
10/5/05: Mary R. Ingram '78, a
Captain with the US Public Health Service and family nurse practitioner
with a doctorate in transcultural nursing, was recently deployed
to Mississippi in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. In addition to
staffing makeshift clinics, she assisted in transforming two hangars
at the Meridian Air National Guard base into a 500-bed hospital
with a 250-bed overflow facility and the ultra-modern mobile hospital,
Nevada-1, in Gulfport.
5/24/05: Mary R. Ingram
’77, Piedmont, S.D., was the 2004 recipient of the
Mabel May Wagner award from the Commissioned Officers Association
of the U.S. Public Health Service. Capt. Ingram was recognized for
her contribution to transcultural nursing. The Ingram Cultural Care
Model, which was based on her dissertation research and which incorporates
nursing tasks with the Lakota virtues of respect, generosity, courage
and wisdom, was adapted as the nursing care model for the Oglala
Lakota College School of Nursing on the Pine Ridge Reservation in
South Dakota.

5/23/05: Diane Nunnelee '69, has been
appointed to Senior Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in
Kansas City, MO. The church is an open and reconciling church. Nunnelee
formerly served as Senior Pastor at Central United Methodist Church
in Kansas City.
5/24/05:
Sister Ann Catherine Veierstahler ’69, Milwaukee,
has created a Web site, www.hopetohealing.com. In June, she gave
a presentation about the Web site at the 2004 Joint National Conference
on Mental Health Block Grant & Mental Health Statistics in Washington,
DC. The Web site was developed and exists to share stories of ordinary
people representing a broad range of society from every state and
background who face the challenges of living with mental illness
with courage and hope enabling them to live very successful and
meaningful lives.
