The goal of the Alumnae in Training program is to facilitate interactions between students and alumni and to enhance the student experience by providing opportunities that strengthen their lifelong loyalty to Alverno.

6th Annual Powderpuff Football Game‌

Are you ready for some football? This year will be the sixth year for Alverno’s Alumnae in Training‌ Powder Puff football game. To make this year even better than ever we are encouraging alums to sign up and play as well as students. This is your opportunity to prove that yes woman can do anything, even play (flag) football. The game will take place on Friday, October 4th at 5pm on the Alverno Soccer Field. If you are interested in playing please contact me by email at or by phone 414-382-6070.

If you don’t want to play, we are still always looking for your support as cheerleaders. So don’t forget to mark this date on your calendar!

I look forward to seeing everyone at homecoming this year.

‌Miss Alverno 2013

This past April, Alumnae in Training hosted another successful Miss Alverno Pageant. The Miss Alverno Pageant is an event like none other. Participants put their Alverno Abilities into action to compete in five categories: Casual Wear, Interview, Talent, Candidate’s Choice, and Formal Wear. Participants gain experience speaking in front of a crowd, get to help out an organization they care about, and show how they are preparing to become an active Alverno Alum.

The Miss Alverno winner, BriAnna Taylor, is an Early Childhood Education and Creative Arts major, working with an Alverno mentor. She is involved in the Alverno community as a member of the cheerleading team and hopes to one day give back to the Alverno community by being a mentor for other Alverno students. BriAnna was poised and had great confidence throughout the entire competition. As Miss Alverno, BriAnna will receive a $250 book scholarship, a variety of Alverno gear, and admission to two Alum Access Events.

We had a great panel of alumnae judges:  Alum Board judge Rebecca Rick ’04, staff judge Nancy Athanasiou ’90, and community member Caitlin Morrall ’08 who all agreed that BriAnna encompassed the qualities of Alverno.

We look forward to watching BriAnna grow into a strong Alverno woman!
