Alumnae in Training
Miss Alverno 2012 will be held in The Mug on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. This event is completely free to all participants and audience members.
Miss Alverno is a pageant-style event which provides students with the opportunity to apply their Alverno abilities in a setting outside of the classroom. The event allows participants and audience members to better understand pageants, in turn detracting from the stereotypes associated with pageants. It's about gaining experience to perform and speak in front of a crowd; it's a chance to gain confidence within oneself; it guides participants to support organizations that they care about and to demonstrate how they are preparing to become active alumnae.
The contestants will participate in five categories:
- Casual Wear - getting to know the contestant
- Talent - showing off their talent
- Formal Wear - dressing for the occasion
- Interview - demonstrating their interviewing skills based on their platform (business attire)
- Candidates' Choice
