Mission Statement
We exist to provide Alverno students and faculty with support that promotes the academic and personal development of students. To accomplish our mission, we consistently work to:
- Engage students in active learning, reflection and collaboration
- Provide a foundation for learning by teaching self-regulation processes
- Teach strategies and processes that promote independence in learning and enable the transfer of learning to multiple contexts
- Give students meaningful opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding by providing service learning through structured peer tutoring programs
- Collaborate with faculty, staff and administrators by sharing our expertise in the fields of developmental education, disability support and second-language learning.
