It will develop your awareness of social change and development as global issues, and introduce you to the nuances of cross-cultural interactions and the diversity of perspectives represented by different countries and cultures around the world.

What you will study
Students in the program have a number of options. You can choose a general program of study or select an "emphasis" in Asian Studies, Latin American Studies, or International Arts within the global studies broad fields major. Or, you can opt for a global studies minor.

All global studies and international affairs majors take two semesters of a foreign language and participate in an immersion experience in another culture, either abroad or here in the United States, choosing from a range of international study or internship experiences arranged through Alverno's Committee on International Study and Student Exchange.
