If you are a graduate student, many career advancement opportunities currently exist, but only for those prepared. A focus on integrated, experiential and reflective learning differentiates our MSN degree. It is specifically designed for baccalaureate-prepared licensed registered nurses wishing to become a Family Nurse Practitioner or a Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Educator who wish to put advanced theory into practice.
Alverno College’s School of Nursing is an organization with a long and rich history of supporting the development of a community treasure: The Alverno Nurse. Our ability-based curriculum is recognized worldwide and continues to evolve and grow.
Alverno’s School of Nursing has added measures of distinction, which include a large student base – one of the largest nursing schools in Wisconsin and one of the highest nursing licensure exam (NCLEX) pass rates in all of Wisconsin.
In fall of 2011, both our undergraduate and graduate students experienced our enhanced approach to “Clinical Simulation” using simulated clinical scenarios and experiences in the radically changing nursing and clinical education. The high-fidelity human patient simulators also come with the support of a hospital room built into a skills lab.
