Welcome from Dean Pat Luebke
This is an exciting time in our rapidly changing educational world. Here at Alverno, we strive to continuously learn and develop the most effective ways to prepare teachers and leaders for the variety of school settings that exist today.
If you're seeking initial teaching licensure, you will experience a variety of placements in schools from the first semester you enter the School of Education. You will develop skill over the length of your program to become an effective reflective practitioner, one who assesses your own learning as well as the learning of your students. We find that graduates of our programs are able to respond to learner needs quickly and effectively. In addition, our graduates enter the profession with confidence, curiosity, determination, and professionalism.
If you're a teacher looking for leadership opportunities, advanced or additional licensure, you'll find that Alverno is a wonderful place to deepen your commitment to the learners and colleagues in your setting and beyond.
If you work with adult learners in organizational or agency settings, the Alverno School of Education takes the same approach -- you will learn to consider your professional practice with new lenses and critical tools to improve your work.
We look forward to sharing all the exciting things the School of Education is doing with you! Click "contact us" to connect for more.
