Women's & Gender Studies

Women's & Gender Studies is offered as a major and minor. The program integrates multiple disciplinary perspectives with feminist theory to explore issues such as race, ethnicity, sexuality, class and religion. Courses are drawn from a variety of disciplines including psychology, history, philosophy and art.

This program will engage you in

  • examining human experience through the lens of gender
  • applying a variety of interdisciplinary perspectives to analyze issues related to women and gender
  • analyzing the relationship between systemic forms of prejudice and privilege and their impact on organizations and communities
  • exploring personal and organizational models to create effective opportunities for change, and
  • developing the abilities and skills to engage and collaborate with others working for change.
