What will you do when you study philosophy at Alverno?

You won’t:  

• memorize what a philosopher said and write it in a blue book on the final
• study philosophy in a way that’s completely unrelated to what you care about
• avoid saying what you think because it doesn’t matter to the grade you get

You will:

• read the philosophical thoughts of men and women who have shared your life experience
• share your philosophical perspective with instructors and peers who care about what you have to say
• consider how the philosophy you are studying applies in your own life
• become more self-aware and more confident in your own thinking as a result of studying philosophy
