Internships and Professional Experience

As an English major, you have the opportunity to intern in a field that fits your individual career goals and your personal passions. Our majors have interned as production assistants at local and national TV networks, legal researchers for Wisconsin judges, curators at public museums and creative associates at private galleries, as editorial assistants and copy editors, web designers and writing tutors.

Our English majors have gone on to successful careers in law, education, publishing, journalism, marketing, public relations and human resources. They have opened their own art galleries, started literacy programs, produced documentaries and published poetry. If you are drawn to careers where ideas and insight are necessary for your success then becoming an English major is exactly the kind of professional preparation you’ll need.
