Art And Cultures Gallery
Graduate Exhibition, Skeleton Key Nov 9th –Dec 14th Opening Reception Friday Nov 9th The exhibit is a culmination of style and expression, which explores the nature of creativity and the process by which experience is transformed into art.

Kellogg Photography Gallery –4th floor of LA Building – 2012/2013
All opening receptions same day as Art and Cultures Opening Receptions
Held in Kellogg Gallery- the first two exhibits are faculty and staff and the last displays alumnae photography.

  • 1st exhibit - Opening Reception - Sept 17th from 4-7 pm
  • 2nd exhibit - Opening Reception - Oct. 5th from 4-6 pm
  • 3rd exhibit - Opening Reception - Feb 5th from 4-7 pm

For Kellogg Gallery Photography Exhibit Celebrating our 125th Anniversary

"Places I Have Visited –A Global Photo Menagerie"

Faculty, Staff and Alumnae are invited to submit photographs for a series of four exhibits to be held in Kellogg Gallery during 2012/13. The theme of these exhibits is Places I Have Visited –A Global Menagerie.

The exhibits would present current photographs submitted by faculty, staff and alum of places recently visited.   Each person is invited to submit one photo and would agree to write a paragraph about his or her travels.  We would like to encourage submissions from every department.

Spring 2013

Art and Cultures Gallery
The Minds Eye - Wisconsin Visual Artist Exhibition – January 25th-February 24
Opening reception – Friday, February 8th from 4:30-8:00
Artist from Southeastern Wisconsin

Observations-Juried Student Exhibit – March 8th –March 24th, Opening Reception , March 8 from 4:30-8:00, Media Exhibit –The annual student art exhibition open to ALL Alverno students.       

Graduate Exhibit-Opening Reception on Friday, April 12th –May 1st.  Opening Reception, April 12th from  4:30-8:00. The exhibit is a culmination of style and expression, which explores the nature of creativity and the process by which experience is transformed into art.
           
May 2-11 - Rotunda Galleria
VSA Wisconsin - The State Organization on Arts and Disability- A Special Journey. The exhibit will be organized by the VSA organization, Alumnae Office, the Art Department and the Art and Cultures Gallery. This May event will showcase the artistic accomplishments of people with disabilities. The exhibit will be held in the Galleria in the 2nd fl Rotunda.

May 7-17 - Art & Cultures Gallery
Distilling Essence  2011 - Opening Reception on Tuesday, May 7th  5:30-8:00  
Day long workshop for the community student participants.
A photography exhibit involving Milwaukee schools from 1st grade to high school-- The students learned how to work digital cameras in multiple modes and create art quality photographs. The participants studied the aspects of image composition--placement, focus, lighting, angle, texture flow, and depth. They also became skilled at editing their work with Photoshop and to work with levels, layers filters and other applications. The public reception is Tuesday, May 7th from 6 pm -7:30 pm. We have special gallery hours for the exhibit.
