Having experience in direct patient care, referred to as clinical in nursing education, is crucial to the educational process in nursing. These clinical experiences allow students to directly apply the knowledge, theory and psychomotor skills learned in the classroom. This application allows students to master use of the nursing process in caring directly for patients, families, and communities.
Unlike many other colleges, where students nervously wait to see whether they’ve secured a clinical site, our nursing students are guaranteed the necessary clinical site placements to ensure an optimal learning experience with a variety of settings. Our affiliation with over 60 local healthcare agencies assures our students get a variety of clinical experiences. These include but are not limited to: assisted living facilities, acute care hospital units (i.e. medical/surgical units, labor and delivery units, pediatric units, etc.), and community agencies (i.e. Hospice, elementary/middle/high schools, etc.).
