Music Therapy Webinar - Intro to Music Therapy Business

by: Alverno College

Join Melissa Jommberbell, Alverno instructor in our Master's of Music Therapy program, for a brief overview of everything business-related for a professional music therapist. Even if you are unsure about pursuing private practice, this course will be incredibly helpful as you navigate your career.

Melissa Jommerbell, MM, MT-BC, has been a board-certified music therapist since 2006 and a proud business owner since 2014. During her journey as a business owner, she has experienced a shift in staff roles (contractors to employees), rebranding (Meli Music LLC to Harmonic Changes Therapy Services), and expanding to a second state (California and Illinois). Currently, Melissa's business supports other disciplines and modalities beyond music therapy, offering art therapy, dance/movement therapy, and drama therapy. All of this varied experience has helped inform a lot of "must-dos," "don't dos," and "maybes" over the years as a business owner. These lived experiences will inform this course while supporting each of your journeys into the professional world.
